We are looking for a motivated entry-level civil engineer with preference given to candidates who have an interest in water and wastewater or transportation to join our Champaign, Illinois, team. We are a group of talented, trustworthy and skilled people who are passionate about what we do and enjoy providing personalized attention to our clients. Oh, and, we also like to have fun.

What you’ll do

You will provide civil, municipal, land development and/or environmental engineering services using prescribed methods. You’ll perform specific and limited portions of broader assignments/projects with oversight from an experienced engineer. You’ll apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow standard office procedures through a series of related detailed steps or processes. This position works directly with clients and project managers to deliver the highest quality result possible – on time and on budget.

You will work in a team environment and learn from fellow staff engineers, project engineers, environmental scientists and project managers. You’ll draft reports, prepare plans, assist with specifications and make a preliminary selection of equipment. You’ll work with clients to obtain data or share information. You’ll receive close supervision on new assignments, but we’ll help you develop leadership skills that build autonomy.

What it takes

You’ll need a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an interest/emphasis in water and wastewater, or transportation. If you are a recent grad or you have up to three years’ experience, we’re interested. You should speak and write well – something we take seriously. You should have strong analytical and organizational skills. You must be a team player. We also should mention that you will be encouraged to stretch professionally – and you will be allowed to fail. Individual failure is met with great team support to achieve project success. We work hard to create an environment in which failure is a positive – an opportunity to learn or solve another problem.

What you’ll get

You will have plenty of opportunities to grow professionally at our progressive, fast-paced firm, which opened in 1973. We offer a competitive salary, and our benefits package includes medical/life/disability insurance, 401K and profit sharing plan, paid time off and an awesome work environment.
