The Manufacturing Engineering Tech is responsible for aiding in the design, specifications, cost justification, to install and improve all manufacturing machinery, processes and systems corporate wide, as well as Production Management in the maintenance, training and operation of this equipment. The Manufacturing Engineering Tech is responsible for the day-to-day activites of the MFG Engineering Techs and the follow-up of work completed. They are responsible for the specifications, layout and operating performance for all production equipment, systems and facilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Research, cost justify, and specify the purchase of manufacturing machinery and equipment.
  • Design, specify, order, install and balance dust collection, compressed air, and electrical systems.
  • Install or relocate manufacturing equipment, as well as dust collection, compressed air and electrical systems per MFG Eng. Tech Supervisor instructions.
  • Develop, learn and train others in the operation of all types of manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Rebuild, refurbish and modernize old or obsolete machinery, processes, or technology.
  • Troubleshoot, test, adjust and repair manufacturing machinery, equipment and processes.
  • Comply to and enforce all safety procedures, including LOTO.
  • Work with Manufacturing Management to develop and improve SOP's related to all manufacturing and equipment.
  • Contribute ideas for improvements in all areas using appropriate means of communication

Job Requirements

Required Experience:

3 years in manufacturing enviroment, with experience in machinery processes, dust collection, compressed air, electrical systems and material handling

Necessary Skills and Abilities:
  • Computer competency in EXCEL, Word, Windows, MAXIMO or MP2, misc. AS400 programs and queries.
  • Good communications skills in order to understand and convey highly technical details, as well as to effectively coordiante multiple projects with conflicting priorities.
  • Proven ability to set priorities and to work with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
