The majors in the College take a broad, multidisciplinary approach to the study of politics, society, economy, and law at the local, regional and international levels.
The Opportunity
The Department of Social Sciences at Zayed University is inviting applications for full-time faculty positions in Anthropology. Candidates should hold a doctorate in socio-cultural anthropology at the time of appointment and be willing to contribute to teaching in undergraduate and post-graduate programs. Apart from standard introductory, theory, methods and critical thinking courses, specialization in one or more of the following substantive areas would be an advantage: museum studies, popular cultures, and heritage. We would like to encourage those with a regional specialization in the Gulf and/or Museum Studies (not essential).In addition to teaching and scholarly requirements, faculty are expected to provide service to the College and to the University; to participate in standing committees; in the development, evaluation and revision of the college curriculum; in the implementation of assessment of major learning outcomes; and actively engage in research activities leading to the publication of peer-reviewed articles and/or books in their area of specialization. Faculty liaise extensively with external constituents to further the mission of the University within the community.
