In the UK, we produce methyl methacrylate (MMA) at our plant on Teesside and MMA is used at our plants in Darwen to manufacture two of the world’s best known contemporary material brands – Lucite® and Perspex®. In the EMEA region, we also have a number of other businesses.
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Darwen for a Financial Accountant to join our team. The role will deliver on internal and external reporting requirements for the EMEA region, and support the global accounting function reporting in to Tokyo.
This opportunity is ideal for a newly or recently qualified accountant seeking a first move into industry – ACA or ACCA qualification preferred.
Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, the role will involve internal and external reporting; maintenance of the accounting ledgers; operating and improving controls; indirect and corporate taxation management; liaison with internal and external auditors; Treasury management; and customer credit management.
The EMEA business operates a fully integrated SAP system therefore an appreciation of SAP or similar ERP systems is desirable (not essential). Technical knowledge of IFRS and core taxation knowledge or experience would be ideal, and you will need to be comfortable working to very tight reporting deadlines with a high level of thoroughness and attention to detail.
