Overview:

ThomasARTS is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer who is well versed in AWS, Automation, monitoring, infrastructure orchestration, configuration management with experience in working in a fast-paced environment.

You will help lead or co-lead all aspects of systems administration of our core web servers including: deployment, configuration, administration, maintenance and troubleshooting of Linux compute, logs, storage, security, and networking servers, and network attached appliances. Further responsibilities include researching, documentation, and project-oriented tasks. The candidate must have proven experience and must be comfortable working closely with other engineers and security personnel as well as maintain professionalism while under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist/Lead on Configuring, designing, and troubleshooting key systems in a timely manner, such as: AWS (both Linux and Windows servers) Zerto, Nagios.
  • Assist with Windows servers administrator tasks (AD, DNS, DHCP etc).
  • Identify, remediate, and document all events that negatively impact business.
  • Create process changes to avoid recurrence or document correct action as required.
  • Configure, manage RDS, SQL and other DB environments.
  • Perform production code deploys
  • Manage and develop tools used by the I.T and Development teams such as Jenkins, Ansible, GitLab, Confluence.
  • Work with the development team to produce and deploy new applications
  • Take on new projects to research, test, prove, and implement new ideas and solutions.
  • Maintain strict staging and production environments.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experienced with AWS infrastructure (EC2, SES, S3, RDS, VPC, ELB).
  • Experienced with Windows Server 2008 and 2012
  • Experienced Working with Linux, preferred Ubuntu.
  • Strong understanding and best practice on web hosting including supporting sites that are built on variety of platforms such as PHP, Ruby, Magento, Angular, Nodejs
  • Experienced with working in MySQL and Postgresql.
  • Experienced with working in the command line including shell scripting.
  • Experienced with capturing and reading logs.
  • Experienced in automation procedures in regard to web hosting / code deploys
  • Strong understanding of GitLab
  • Strong ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
  • Experience with a config management system, preferred Ansible.
  • Experienced in any of the following: PCI/ISO 27001/2, HIPPA Compliance in relation to all aspects of local network, web hosting and databases a plus.
  • VMware management experience a plus
  • Log Rhythm experience a plus
  • Confluence experience a plus
  • Haproxy experience a plus
