Responsibilities:

Assist in the management and serve as the primary point of contact for the graduate student services operation for the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice including both the Master’s program and Ph.D. program. Assist in the preparation, development, and dissemination of academic policies and procedures. Maintain database for the tracking of graduate student progress through their programs. Advise graduate students regarding their academic progress as well as administrative procedures of the University. Manage student recruitment to increase the number of quality applicants and attract those applicants to the Ph.D. program. Coordinate admissions process, student academic progress, and commencement clearance with the College. Act as School liaison to offices campus-wide including serving as representative on designated School, College, and University committees. Responsible for international graduate student exchange programs and administration of the Plus One and Double Husky programs.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of college / academic administration, recruitment, and supervisory experience preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, database, and analytical skills needed. Willingness to be flexible and to take initiative and responsibility necessary.
Should enjoy working with diverse populations including students, parents, faculty and community organizations. Excellent computer (Excel, Word, Publishing, Web), written and oral communication skills required.
Individual must work well independently, have good time management skills, and be able to multi-task. Individual must demonstrate the ability to set goals, take initiative, follow through and organize effectively. Individual must be detail-oriented and have the ability to prioritize during busier periods.
