Job Summary:
This position will provide a variety
of services aimed at improving the care for patients enrolled within the UK
HealthCare Specialty Pharmacy service and the non-oncology infusion center.
This position will provide oversight of a variety of areas, including patient
counseling, coordination of infusion orders, obtaining prior authorizations,
and enrolling patients in financial support programs. The RN is a member of the
multidisciplinary ambulatory team who is responsible for patient care, patient
satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. This position will also provide patient
care specific to disease management for the non-oncology infusion center
including: skilled assessments, care plans and care plan implementation,
evaluations or clinical interventions, and infusion administration.
The primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing total,
comprehensive, continuous and patient centered care which includes: assessing,
documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a
comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring
patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care
Technicians (Nursing Assistant); and adhering to University policies and procedures
as well as federal, state and local regulations. Furthermore, this environment
supports collaborative efforts among the nursing staff and the team of
physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes.
This includes utilization of the nursing process in conjunction with a
comprehensive patient-centered plan of care, ensuring patient satisfaction.
