Through continued modernization, including a $200 million investment over the past decade alone, Davenport has maintained its position as the world’s premier aerospace supply plant and is today the hub of Alcoa’s $3 billion aerospace business.The Metallurgical Engineer will provide support and leadership to a manufacturing area, Laboratories or product line. The Metallurgical Engineer will address quality issues related to the area of support, and will evaluate and develop products, processes, and equipment based on customer requirements. Responsibility also includes ensuring ISO procedures and product/process control. This position involves working with support staff in this area, shift leaders, and the hourly work force. Due to the 24/7 manufacturing environment, working off-shift hours and/or weekends to support operations is expected although not always required.Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years metallurgical experience
Quality system experience (TS 16949 or AS 9100)
Lean manufacturing experience
Experience with Statistical Methods, Engineering Calculations, Physical Metallurgy, Mechanical Metallurgy, Phase Diagrams, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Metals Solidification Theory, Thermodynamics, and Material Processing
