The research scientist will mainly be responsible for developing algorithms and implementation of computational design methods for 3D bioprinting applications. The position is for an initial contract period of 2 years, but it can be extended to a longer term based on the qualifications.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Computational design (geometry) for 3D (bio)printing
  • Development and implementation of computational design methods
  • Computeraided design and engineering of porous scaffolds
  • 3D printing and mechanical testing of the designed porous scaffolds
  • Design and development of 3D printing equipment
  • Writing project reports, grant applications, and journal/conference papers
  • Supervising and training students in the related field

Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or a related field
  • A strong background and handson experience in computational geometry (design) and implementation. Rhino Script/ Python knowledge and experience are plus.
