The Autonomous Control and Intelligent Systems Division of the Applied Research Lab (ARL) is seeking both undergraduate and graduate students to perform basic research and applied science in several growing technology areas such as: machine learning, artificial intelligence, signal and image processing, autonomy, cloud computing, embedded systems, big data analytics, User interface/User experience and cybersecurity. The successful candidates will have a good opportunity to learn in a laboratory environment with flexible hours. Students studying Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related major are encouraged to apply. Experience with structured programming, such as C++ or JAVA; signal processing; and mathematics are highly desired. This is a great opportunity for future full-time employment or post-graduate work. The successful candidate will work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters and 40 hours per week over the summer. Successful graduate-level candidates typically have an undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or above during their junior and senior years. This is a paid internship located at ARL’s Main Laboratory at the University Park campus; relocation and housing are not provided.
