RTI’s staff in the Statistics and Epidemiology unit conduct surveys and epidemiological and clinical studies and have research interests in child and maternal health, genetics, health disparities, and other chronic and infectious diseases.

A Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) is needed to provide support to the research and programmatic efforts for SEED GA site a multi-year study funded by CDC. It is currently the largest study in the United States to help identify factors that may put children at risk for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. Understanding the risk factors that make a person more likely to develop an ASD will help us learn more about the causes. This position will be located in the client’s facilities in Atlanta.

The Clinical Research Coordinator provides technical support to a CDC multi-site research study GA site “Study to Explore Early Development” (SEED)

Responsibilities – Assist CDC/Georgia epidemiology team in the development of instruments and related procedure manuals. Conduct various field implementation task. CRC will provide training to interviewers and recruiter staff based on GA SEED MOP and SOP to be developed by CDC. CRC will ensure all staff maintain reliability through exercises outlined in the MOP for recruiting and interviewing.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and minimum 3 years’ experience in the field of nursing, public health, psychology, maternal and child health etc.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft office suite (Word, PowerPoint, EXCEL, Access etc.)
• Experience in a health related setting coordinating research activities and training research staff with understanding of child development, developmental disabilities, or perinatal health.

• Mature and personable with good oral and written communication skills; must be at ease and professional when talking on the phone or in person with professionals, non-professionals, and families
• Prior experience in development, implementation, management, and evaluation of research studies or public health activities.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, organization skills, multi-tasking
