Responsibilities:
Performs condensed matter physics research of a limited scope, primarily using existing theories and methods. Assists the supervisor in the interpretation and publication of results and grants. Maintains the laboratory and may exercise functional supervision over supporting research staff. Primary responsibility is ensuring that the research is complete. The appointment generally does not extend beyond two years.
He/she will be involved in projects concerning decoherence and other time-dependent phenomena. We are interested in a variety of many-body techniques, but specially tensor network methods/Density Matrix Renormalization Group (both for static and time/frequency dependent calculations), Lanczos/Exact Diagonalization, Dynamical Mean Field Theory, and configuration interaction.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have proven experience studying models for strongly correlated matter, quantum magnetism and/or quantum chemistry. Expertise in semi analytic techniques, such as Hartree Fock approximations and other mean field approaches is also of our interest.

DESCRIPTION
Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking candidates for a Part-Time Administrative Assistant for Pegula Ice Arena and Women’s Ice Hockey. Responsibilities include providing general administrative functions such as: answering phones, greeting and assisting visitors, customers, staff, or others, preparing documents and reports, compiling records, scheduling meetings, organizing and maintaining information, and handling accounts receivable and payable and other duties within IBIS. May assist with special functions and special events while providing daily general office support. The successful candidate must have exceptional phone and customer service skills; excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills, ability to multi-task, ability to prioritize appropriately and meet required deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel is required. Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with the possibility of additional hours in season.
