Job description

Responsibilities will include the development of material quality for metal automotive parts to ensure vehicle performance. This will include creating product specifications and coordination of projects between vendor, manufacturing and development teams. Utilizing various material test equipment to confirm material characteristics and creation and presentation of technical reports for related materials evaluations. Candidate will also be responsible for working within fixed schedule, managing their own as well as other’s schedules, managing development projects and coordinating with other departments, suppliers and manufacturing facilities to resolve problems. Additional responsibilities will include researching new materials and processing technologies to advance the performance of Honda products. This will include identifying new technologies which could provide benefits, coordination of a research project including investigations of technical aspects as well as exploring practical aspects of implementation such as cost and weight.

Honda R&D Americas, Inc.

BS degree in Material Science Engineering, Welding Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering and a minimum of 1 year of closely related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. An understanding of all aspects of automotive materials research & development (testing & analytical analysis) desired. Proficient PC Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other technical software including Minitab) and excellent communication/interpersonal skills required. Ability to travel,work overtime and work flexible schedules may be required.
