JOB DESCRIPTION: The A. Alikhanyan National Laboratory of Armenia is looking for a highly motivated and qualified Chief Financial Officer with deep knowledge and practical experience in various aspects of financial management and operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Chief Financial Officer advises the Director on all matters pertaining to the management and operation of accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budget management and control, budget preparation, cost optimization, revenue stream development, financial information systems, credit management, fiscal planning and forecasting, financial statement preparation, payroll, etc. The Chief Financial Officer exercises a major responsibility for the accounting and investing of the Institute. The Chief Financial Officer serves as an executive officer in the director’s management team and reports directly to the director of the Institute. The CFO is directly responsible for providing leadership and management of the following functions:
-Strategic planning: Design and implementation of business strategies, plans and procedures
-Financial accounting: Coordination of financial accounting function, accounts receivable and accounts payable processing, supervision of financial transactions that affect the general ledger, and preparation of the financial statement of the Institute in accordance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
-Grants and Foundation Accounting: accounting and administrative control to maintain Institute grants and contracts and accounting operations
-Budgeting: planning, controlling, monitoring and reporting both budgets of the projects and overall institute
-Controller: payroll operations, cash management programs, income and expenditure
-Management accounting and reporting: cost accounting of the products, allocation of overheads.
-Property and procurement: Purchasing and procurement process, property, facility and campus management, central receiving and shipping and insurance
-Coordination and cooperation with external auditors and other stakeholders
-Being an agent for change, identifying improvement opportunities and driving the necessary changes for improvement
Requirements
1. University degree in Economics, Finance
2. MBA, ACCA or other professional qualification is an advantage
3. Minimum of 5 years professional experience in accounting, budgetary planning and control
4. Ability to prepare comprehensive accounting and financial reports
5. A strategic thinker with ability to advise on improvements, profitability, cost savings, etc.
6. Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required
7. Ability to understand overall aims of the Institute and work according to strategic plan of Institute
8. Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships
9. Strong verbal and written communication skills in Armenian and English languages
10. Strong analytical skills
11. Must have solid experience with Armenian Software, MS Excel spreadsheets, Word, Power Point, etc.
Compensation: Compensation and benefits package will be commensurate with experience including a 10% potential bonus for outstanding performance.
