DESCRIPTION

The Adult Neuroplasticity Lab at Penn State (PL: Chaleece W. Sandberg, PhD, CCC-SLP) is seeking a Human Research Technologist. The Adult Neuroplasticity Lab employs a variety of methods including behavioral therapy, electrophysiological methods (EEG/ERP), and fMRI to understand and improve word retrieval difficulties in aphasia. Responsibilities include recruitment of and working with persons with aphasia, requiring strong interpersonal skills and experience working with individuals with language disorders. Responsibilities also include neuroimaging data collection and analysis, requiring strong organizational skills, the ability to learn new software quickly, and a strong curiosity and interest in the research and methods at the interface between biological and cognitive processes. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences and Health or a related area preferred. This would preferably include laboratory experience as an undergraduate working with individuals with language disorders. Skills and experience with programs such as Excel, E-prime, and SPSS are desirable. Experience administering language or intelligence tests is desirable.
