(Leadership and Innovation in Contemporary Media)
The Mohammad Bin Rashid School of Communication (MBRSC), the first of its kind in the Arabian Gulf region, at the AmericanUniversity in Dubai invites qualified applicants for the position of Assistant / Associate Professor of Communication & InformationStudies to begin teaching in Fall 2019.
The School invites qualified applicants for the full-time opening to teach Leadership and Innovation in Contemporary Media (LICM)graduate courses. Candidates have solid credentials in teaching the foundational concepts, techniques, and frameworks forunderstanding, managing, and leading new initiatives in emerging media. Responsibilities will include teaching graduate courses thatwill critically examine the role of social media in local and global contexts, examine various media business strategies that fostercreativity and success in managing creative media, looks into product marketing in emerging media, and teach contemporary consumerresearch while highlighting new means and opportunities to access the consumers.
The successful candidate will have:
Doctorate in the discipline from a Western accredited institution at the time of appointment
Previous teaching experience at a graduate level in a Western higher education system with high ratings of teachingeffectiveness
A demonstrated record of research publication and/or professional experience in Emerging Media
Excellent English written and oral communication skills
Ability to be an active team player and a contributor to the continuous improvement in the Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication
Candidates are expected to meet standards for personal professional scholarship, and assist in student advising, curriculumdevelopment and other service to the department, school, and community.The compensation package for this position is competitive and is based on the expatriate model. Besides tax-exempt basic salary, itincludes housing, annual two-way airfare, health / life insurance, professional memberships, conference attendance expenses,assistance with children's tuition, and other components.
