Primary Responsibilities

HDR Engineering has an opportunity for a Roadway Engineer/Project Manager to become a team member of our Transportation Group in Boise or Coeur d’Alene. This position will be responsible for:
  • Serve in a technical role under the direction of Senior Project Managers on the engineering development of urban and rural roadway projects.
  • Oversee the work of technical staff including CAD Designers and EITs.
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projects.
  • Assume some project management duties and interact with clients as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • PE or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • 7+ years of experience in highway/geometric design for urban/rural roads, interstates, intersections, and interchanges.
  • Previous experience working with state and local agencies on federal aid and/or design build projects.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience using Microstation, Inroads (preferred), Geopak, Civil3D or other CAD design software.
  • Willing to lead in a team environment
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail is a must.
  • Self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • An attitude and commitment to quality.
