JOB PURPOSEThe Research Institute of Sciences and Engineering (RISE) has an opening for a full-time Post-Doctoral Fellow position in Artificial Intelligence. We are looking for a candidate to perform research in the area of machine learning with a goal to develop new techniques, analyze and develop novel large-scale interdisciplinary research projects spanning several research areas from natural language processing & text mining, big data, computer vision, and robotics.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
-Conduct independent research and development of interdisciplinary projects using machine learning tools.
-Develop software to evaluate novel computational techniques/systems.
-Participate in the establishment of future research directions and contribute to group grant proposals.
-Document research by publishing papers in peer-reviewed media and presenting papers.
-supervising junior researchers.
-Perform other related duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
1. Experience in building large-scale machine learning systems.
2. Experience with Unix/Linux platforms and GPU-based implementations.
3. Experience with underlying Machine Learning techniques, Deep Learning, and Computer Vision algorithm development.
4. Experience in using Big Data tools.
5. Experience in state-of-the-art machine learning and statistical modeling techniques.
6. Excellent communication, design and analytical skills.
7.Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
COMPETENCIES
1. PhD in Computer Science or a related field on a research topic in the field of machine learning.
2. Experience in modern machine learning environments (TensorFlow, Keras, pyTorch, etc.).
3. Excellent programming skills (python, C/C++, Java, and Matlab).
4. Demonstrated ability to conduct high quality research and to develop implementations to evaluate the results.
5. Effective verbal and written communication skills necessary to interact with the research team, write scientific reports and papers, and deliver scientific presentations.
