Managing Director,Technology Practice, San Francisco

The Technology Practice is searching for a senior communications professional to lead large, complex client relationships and programs and enhance our intellectual capital by driving innovation, developing new products and services, and leveraging our strategic platform of knowledge, insights and ideas. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead the West Coast Technology team, foster a collaborative fun, energetic work environment, partner with our U.S and Global Practice Chairs to develop and execute the vision of the practice, and actively expand our presence in the San Francisco market. This is an opportunity to work apart of a team that is expanding not only in the Enterprise Technology space but also in Health Technology, Consumer Technology, and Ecommerce. Responsibilities include:

  • Strategic public relations program development, execution and management.
  • New business development.
  • Management and organic growth of existing client relationships.
  • System-wide talent development.
  • Marketing & promotion of the practice.
  • Lead the West Coast Technology teams with the opportunity to grow the office as well as client roster in the Bay Area
  • Partner with U.S and Global Practice Chair in a highly visible leadership role

Required

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in roles of increasing complexity and geographic reach.
  • Strong background in enterprise technology; well-connected in Silicon Valley
  • Proven track record of building teams and managing people, ability to foster a collaborative fun, energetic work environment
  • Extensive agency experience, preferably big agency,
  • Demonstrated ability to win new business AND grow existing engagements.
    • Previous experience providing clients & prospects with counsel and information in enterprise technology especially in Silicon Valley.
    • Strong understanding of the technology landscape (hardware, software and services) and knowledge of key technology trends such as virtual reality and artificial intelligence.
    • Must have the stature and confidence to be credible as a peer at senior levels of an organization.
    • Able to manage complex relationships diplomatically and consultatively.
    • Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
