Position Summary

Successful applicants should complement and extend areas of expertise and research at the PRL. Individuals are expected to employ innovative and state-of-the art approaches, which may include, but are not limited to, advanced molecular and structural biology, cell biology, computational biology, genetics and genomics, metabolomics, synthetic biology, biophysics, phenomics, or modeling.

The PRL, with long-standing funding from U.S. DOE-BES, provides a highly collaborative environment for conducting creative, fundamental research on photosynthetic organisms, with a research core focused on energy-related science aimed at improving photosynthetic robustness and productivity. This research core is complemented by interdisciplinary research on photosynthetic organisms and their interactions with the environment. PRL faculty are full members of the MSU tenure-stream faculty and jointly appointed in an academic department.Applicants must have a PhD and postdoctoral research experience with evidence of productivity and potential for independent research that contributes to the DOE-BES priorities at the PRL but also expands the breadth of the PRL research portfolio.
