The Role

WABCO is seeking a System Engineer ADAS Expert in Rochester Hills, MI.
The System Engineer ADAS Expert is technically responsible for a system locally. Improve the quality of the system and develop it further for better cost and function based on customer requirements/business needs.

Key Accountabilities

The System Engineer ADAS Expert will be responsible for:
• Elicit technical customer (internal / external) requirements for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and advanced development projects
• Regularly align with customer (internal / external) for requirements clarification
• Specify technical system requirements derived from customer (internal / external) requirements
• Design, plan and track system architecture
• Create system specifications based on system requirements
• Formulates Safety Goals, Functional and Technical Safety Concepts according ISO26262
• Plan and perform safety/FMEA reviews with customers
• Formulate product variants and product configuration strategies
• Create product variants and product configuration plans and tables
• Support development of system verification strategies
• Support creation of test plans and test specifications
• Integrate system components and perform tests of system interfaces
• Support building HIL capabilities to test for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and advanced development projects
• Create documentation for prototype releases and series production
• Support building prototypes, and testing for advanced technologies
• Support for process improvement, inspections, sharing learning etc.

Skills & Experience

• Degree in mechanical or electrical/electronics engineering, Masters Preferred
• 10 years of experience in automotive industry, preferred
• Experience with automotive embedded systems,
• Basic knowledge of MatLab, Simulink and model based development to support HiL/SiL,
• MKS/DOORS Requirement management systems
• dSpace HIL set up knowledge, preferred
• Rapid prototyping using dSpace/ETAS/Mototune tools, preferred
• Familiar with SAE J1939 vehicle standards, preferred
• CAN tools such as CANalyzer, CANape, CAPL scripts etc. , preferred
• Analytical and strategic thinking, preferred
• Good English language skills, German is a plus
• CDL, preferred
