Position Summary
The Research Technology Support Facility at Michigan State University seeks to hire a staff scientist to be part of a vibrant research environment using cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) to address a broad range of biological questions in the areas of structural biology, membrane proteins, computational biology, microbiology, and plant biochemistry. The facility houses a Talos Arctica with a phase plate and Falcon 3 camera and we are committed to expansion of this facility. The successful candidate will obtain a leadership role in overseeing daily operations, instrument support and user training and should have a strong background in protein biochemistry, cryo-EM grid preparation and sample optimization for cryo-EM structure determination.
