Avery Associates was hired by the City of Encinitas to recruit for the position of City Engineer!
Encinitas is located in northern San Diego County along six miles of the Pacific coastline, with a population of close to 65,000 residents. In reporting to the Development Services Director, the City Engineer has a key leadership role in integrating the engineering staff that oversees Capital Improvement Program design, construction, and inspection, along with stormwater programs and traffic engineering. A key facet to this role is the critical importance of partnering with the City Planner in supporting development review plans. Additionally, management and oversight of the City’s aggressive $70 million CIP, traffic and stormwater programs are essential priorities.
The City Engineer will have a background that includes six or more years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience including three of those years managing or supervising staff. A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field along with certification as a P.E. in the State of California is required. The salary range for this position is $101,040 - $149,280 annually, DOQ.
