The Department of International Studies at American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates seeks applications for two visiting faculty positions for the 2019–2020 academic year. The department seeks candidates specializing in any of the following disciplines: anthropology, history, philosophy or sociology. Applicants must be willing to teach introductory courses as well as upper level courses in their area of specialty.

Successful candidates will have a PhD in their field and either a record of excellent teaching or demonstrated potential as an instructor. The position comes with faculty housing on campus and transportation to and from the United Arab Emirates. The regular teaching load is three sections per semester. Hire is contingent upon funding.

As a university formed on the American model and with English as the language of instruction, American University of Sharjah will give priority to candidates who have substantial experience in American models of higher education.
