Job Description:

The Syracuse Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Engagement (The SOURCE) seeks an Assistant Director to assist in the development of programs to support diverse undergrad participation in research and creative scholarship at SU and enhance the office’s capacity to serve as the institutional hub for resources, policies, and processes related to undergraduate research across the University. The Assistant Director will assist with the management of The SOURCE grant application, review, and award processes; supervise the Student Research Mentor program; develop and conduct outreach activities; provide research-related advising to undergraduates interested in pursuing research and creative work across disciplines; and represent The SOURCE at events and meetings. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential; The SOURCE regularly collaborates with campus partners including faculty, staff, student organizations, departments and units to create and promote research opportunities. The successful candidate will have demonstrated abilities and deep knowledge in mentoring diverse undergraduates and the interest and skills to develop programs to support increased participation in research by students from underrepresented backgrounds and by first- and second-year students. The SOURCE is an undergraduate research center committed to a diverse staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required with some research experience, Master’s degree preferred.
