Job Description The Physics Department at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a Research Associate position in Astronomy. The successful applicant will work with Dr. Rim Fares on a project aiming at characterizing interactions in both a close-in exoplanet (star-planet interactions) and a binary system. Candidates should have completed a PhD in Astronomy, Astrophysics or related fields. A background in observational astronomy with an experience in spectroscopy is desired. An experience in analyzing spectroplarimetric data is a plus. Candidates with experience in theoretical modelling of interactions in exoplanets and binary systems will also be considered. The contract is for one year and a half. The application should include a CV, a cover letter, a research statement and three letters of reference. The position will remain available until filled. Applications submitted before July 1st will receive best consideration. The nominal starting date is August 1, 2020, but negotiable.
