Summary:

The Industrial Engineer for our Texarkana facility plans utilizations of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations by performing the following duties.

  • Studies functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units and to identify areas of duplication.
  • Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
  • Analyzes and maintains accurate work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
  • Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
  • Confers and assists with management and engineering staff concerning cost justifications and to implement plans and recommendations.
  • Develops management systems for cost analysis, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.
  • Trains Associate Industrial Engineering Technician in time and motion study principles and techniques.
  • Maintains up-to-date records of equipment, capacities, manpower requirements based on actual performance. Makes comparison to standards, draws conclusions, makes and implements recommendations.
  • Develops a working knowledge of equipment. Recommends equipment, equipment modification, feeds, speeds, manning to achieve cost effective integration of equipment and labor.
  • Cooperating with plant engineering, production, and the engineering draftsperson, maintains current accurate plant layouts of equipment and buildings. Prepares and analyzes proposed changes and improvements.
  • Promotes adherence to the BMS

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field of study
  • Minimum of 2 years technical & relevant work experience
  • Good computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power point, Access)
  • AutoCad experience
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Team oriented personality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
