Manufacturing organization headquartered in Charlotte, NC has an immediate need for a Project Engineer to assist in estimating and then drive the project life cycle.Position Responsibilities
Create and manage project scheduling
Develop project objectives by reviewing customer requirements
Direct customer, vendors, and internal resource communications
Prepare cost estimates used as planning, organizing, and scheduling work
Prepare time, cost, capital, and labor estimates
Manage and coordinate multiple simultaneous projects
Maintain current and accurate documentation of systems
Perform training as required on implemented control systems
Troubleshoot and maintain new and existing control systems for customers
Coordinate project activities with appropriate parties internally and externally
Maintain positive budgets on assigned projects
Perform all work in a manner consistent with policies, procedures, and standards
Typical job training requires field presence during implementation
Travel target 30%
Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering required with preference to Master of Science degree.
Five plus years of engineering and project management experience
Three plus years of high volume manufacturing utilizing machining
Automotive experience required
Strong understanding of GD&T
Process improvement experience using lean tools
Strong desire and demonstrated ability to successfully develop and implement innovative products and/or processes.
Must have experience in PFMEA, DFMEA, and various manufacturing methods
Skilled with Microsoft Project software & MS Office products.
Experience with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, ProE, Matlab, FEA / CFD Simulation, etc. a plus
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Open to travel to client and vendor sites
