Basic Function/Overview:

1. Teach (lecture, clinical and field) in multiple areas of the Paramedic program including organization and coordination of skills labs, supervision of clinical assignments, and field internships
2. Teach ACLS, BLS, and PALS curriculum
3. Responsible for maintaining an academy environment
4. Collaborate with faculty in maintaining programmatic national, state, and local accreditation standards within a defined annual budget.
5. Participate in curriculum development. Understand basic statistical measures for exam construction, assessment, and evaluation. Contribute to construction, assessment, evaluation, and appropriate modification of coursework using Student Learning Outcome measures and National Registry Paramedic Portfolio skills sheets
6. Be responsible for areas including, but not limited to, curriculum development, course coordination and instruction
7. Instruct and assist in the growth and success of diverse students through careful preparation of course materials, effective teaching methodologies, and informed critical feedback on assignments and discussions.
8. Maintain scheduled office and campus hours; participate in department and division meetings
9. Serve on College committees as necessary to maintain and improve the instructional program; participate in appropriate professional development activities
10. Perform related duties as assigned, including timely compliance with clerical and responsibilities; comply with College and division policies in the performance of duties
11. Proficient in the use of web-based record management systems and online publisher resources
12. Late afternoon and/or evening assignments may be required as part of the regular contract.

License(s) & Other Requirements:

1. The incumbent must maintain a current state license as a physician, registered nurse, physician assistant, or paramedic.

2. If not already ACLS, BLS, and PALS curriculum instructor certified at time of hire, incumbent must become certified within six (6) months of appointment.

3. The incumbent may periodically be required to get to a variety of locations. If operating a vehicle, employees must have the ability to secure and maintain a valid California driver’s license.
