Senior Project Manager

Reporting to the Operations Director the Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of projects to agreed scope, schedules, cost and quality. The Senior Project Manager manages the client interface alongside working with operations disciplines to ensure work plans meet client needs effectively. The Senior Project Manager also plays akey role in attracting and winning new projects for DPS.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of assigned projects to agreed scope, cost, schedule and quality. Delivery of project in line with budgeted man hours and margin targets.
  • Creation and execution of project work plans. Revision as appropriate to meet client/project needs.
  • Produce accurate and consistent project reports as per client and operations requirements.
  • Ensure all activities to be in full compliance to Client Standard Operating Procedures & policies
  • Resolve any project issues in a timely manner. Escalate urgent issues as required.
  • Review and approve project deliverables with project team members in line with required quality standards.
  • Liaise closely with operations disciplines to determine project resource loading and monitor quality of team member performance. Prepare resource plans in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all project stakeholders are aware of deliverables, project status and key focus areas. Hold regular status meetings with project team.
  • Effectively communicate relevant project information to Operations Manager.
  • Ensure project invoices issued in a timely manner. Follow through on invoicing through to project completion.
  • Build strong client relationships with a view to establishing long-term, repeat business links. Develop constructive, proactive working relationships.
  • actively support business development activities, participate in client presentations and generate commercial proposals in response to customer RFQ’s.
  • Support key organisational initiatives including; Core Values, Codes of Practice & CPD.
  • Contribute actively to lessons learned process and other improvement initiatives.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years project management experience (managing multidisciplinary design project teams) within the pharmaceuticals area. Other industry experience such as medical devices, microelectronics or similar an advantage but not essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Chemical/Process Engineering background is preferred.
  • Recognised Senior PM with a strong client network and experience with a large Project Management / Engineering organisation.
  • Must have experience of previously managing projects in the Pharmaceutical sector
  • PMI qualification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully win and deliver business projects.
  • Proficiency and experience with construction contracts.

  • Self-motivated, with proven ability to understand, identify and define Project Needs in their area with minimal direction.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, multitasking and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
  • Strong presentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literate

Other:

  • ability to travel extensively to client meetings, conferences and company events in Ireland and internationally.
  • Flexibility to project manage projects for our Cork office as required.
  • Committed to working and living in Ireland.
