Job Description:
The School of Architecture’s Career Services Director will plan and deliver comprehensive career services programming for students in professional architecture programs including resume and portfolio development, advising as to specific career paths within architecture, providing comprehensive information with respect to the path to licensure and registration, conducting searches for both short term and full time employment, and advising on alternative careers. Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers and alumni, plan on-campus career fairs and interview days, and participate in all aspects of recruitment. Teach students skills required for successful interviewing, follow up, salary negotiation, and all related matters, including becoming fluent in Handshake and LinkedIn. Participate in all-campus assessment activities as well as Architecture programming outcomes to ensure consistent and high quality programming.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree required, Masters degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in academic advising or career services advising required.
• Familiarity with the architecture field or related fields preferred.

• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, alumni, faculty, administrators, and employers.
• Ability to think strategically and analytically with the ability to move items from vision to action is required.
• Ability to independently interpret and make recommendations for improvement in advising policy and procedure.
• Able to resolve conflict and easily offer resolution to situations of a sensitive nature with demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population.
• Leadership, supervisory, and fiscal management experience required.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and have working knowledge of database management and relevant Career Services platforms such as Handshake and LinkedIn, is preferred.
