Johnson Service Group is a nationwide engineering and technical staffing firm that is currently searching for a Project Engineer for a client in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. This Project Engineer will assist our client, who is a contract manufacturer of personal care and over the counter drug products, with managing capital projects in excess of $10MM to assist with cost savings, operational efficiencies and much more. The Summary and Job Duties for the Project Engineer position include:
This Project Engineer who will manage capital projects to $10MM. Projects will be packaging lines, tankage and piping, building modification, utility systems, and productivity improvements. The Engineer will work with customers to obtain the correct change parts and equipment to run new products. The Engineer will work with local operations when needed to solve production and maintenance problems.
- Complete capital projects as assigned on time and in budget.
- Create budgets for capital projects and estimates for evaluations.
- Select and install packaging equipment, pipes & tankage, other devices or facility modifications.
- Understand GMP, Sanitation, QC, and other guidelines, standards and regulatory rules in design and operational phase.
- Complete line trials on new products and complete the appropriate reporting.
- Launch new products on time, in quality, and at rated outputs. Complete the intermediate steps of Pilots, specification development / approval, and alignment with the customer.
- Support local operations in maintenance, rebuilds, and other problem solving.
- Be part of the company’s functional expertise in materials, equipment and processes.
- Complete new equipment installations with the appropriate documentation
The Job Requirements for the Project Engineer include:
- Minimum of BS in Engineering – Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial.
- 3 – 5 years experience minimum.
- Experience in filling, packaging, blending, utilities, and water treatment.
- Experience in cost savings, operational efficiency, and leading cross-functional teams.
