PurposeThe Joh holder is responsible for overseeing academic integrity cases from the time they are reported to closure.
Principal Accountabilities:
For Academic Integrity cases
• Meets with students to collect information and review cases prior to hearing by committee
• Determines and collects missing case information from all involved parties
• Coordinates and manages the meetings of the AI committee and students
• Presents case data in front of the AI committee and answers all of their queries
• Takes minutes during the AIC meeting
• Informs students of committee decision and sanctions (if any) once deliberations are over
• Arranges plagiarism workshops and conducts corresponding evaluations
• Follows up with the responsible entities till sanctions are completed
Other tasks:
• Performs office’s standard procedures and manages its records, emails and calendar
• Manages meetings logistics and ensures material and support data are provided
• Manages and oversees all logistical requirements for workshops/focus groups/lectures associated with academic integrity
• Manages confidential digital database in the advocate system
• Responsible for the office’s financial logistics
• Assists the director in determining meeting agendas based on time sensitivity, priority
• Assists with organization and implementation of awareness campaigns and students’ orientation sessions
• Assists with preparation and tracking of the annual budget
• Keeps Director informed as needed
• Other tasks as required by the supervisor
Requirements:Minimum Education Requirement:University degree in related fields is required
Experience: Seven to nine years of experience in an office and research setting including two years in an academic institute. Understanding of FERPA, HIPPA and other applicable laws and regulations. Understanding of plagiarism, copyright and other matters of academic integrity
Skills:
• Ability to communicate with different constituencies of the university (faculty, staff, students, parents, administrators)
• Strong command of written and spoken English
• Excellent written and spoken Arabic
• Ability to diffuse conflicts with professionalism
• Discretion and tact when dealing with sensitive or confidential issues
