JOB PURPOSE The Research Institute of Sciences and Engineering (RISE) is seeking to hire a full time Research Assistant. Research Assistants (RAs) are typically holding master or bachelor degree with high CGPA from a reputable university. Applicants should have a solid background in Computer Science or Engineering. The RA will be working as a full time researcher in the general field of information retrieval and information security research at the Information Security Center at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), University of Sharjah. The ECE department has two graduate degrees: M.Sc. in Computer Engineering and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering. The College of Engineering has started a new Ph.D. program in Engineering Management which admits students from all engineering specializations including Computer Engineering.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
1. Help in doing cutting edge research in the general field of information retrieval and information security.2. Implementing simulation programs to test algorithms and scheme related to the center research areas.
3. Help in carrying experiments to test new ideas and algorithms in the area of information security and information retrieval.
4. Writing technical reports and papers on relevant research topics.
5. Help in searching new technologies, ideas, and tools in the literatures and on the Internet.
6. May perform other duties related to the nature of his/her job as assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
1. Master (preferred) or bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related fields2. Motivated and can work independently as well as within a team
3. Excellent computer skills.
