The Accountant performs a wide variety of accounting tasks. This is an experienced accounting position that works closely with the Controller and President to maintain business transactions of the organization, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records. This position requires dedication to the overall company growth strategies to move the company fiscally forward with compliance and integrity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Process month-end balancing and journal entries
Complete the month-end process
Perform General ledger analysis of accounts
Prepare monthly standard and miscellaneous payroll journal entries.
Perform Bank, credit card and term account reconciliations
Perform Billing processes
Manage A/R processing, collection, and investigation
Manage A/P processing and investigation
Assist in ERP and billing software setup of projects, new clients, G/L mapping, etc.
Perform special projects as assigned by Controller
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or other related field
3-5 years of applied experience in accounting and finance
CPA preferred but not required
Experience with mid-to large accounting software/ERP systems
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
Experience with government contracting organizations, preferred
Valid driver’s license and insurance
Applicants subject to government security investigations and must meet eligibility requirements related to the clearance process
