The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Human Services Management and Leadership starting in Fall 2020. UNT Dallas – the first four-year public institution of higher education in the city – offers faculty the unique opportunity to help shape the character of a 21st century, learner-focused, comprehensive urban university.

Position Summary

This position is a tenure-track, 9-month term appointment which will be responsible for teaching four courses per semester and helping build and develop the Human Services Management and Leadership program. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly research and participate in service activities such as curriculum development, student recruiting, program assessment, program accreditation, student advisement, and committee leadership. The School of Human Services is particularly interested in candidates with significant teaching or practice experience in alternative dispute resolution/mediation, arbitration, negotiation, cross-cultural conflict resolution, marriage and family mediation or restorative justice.

Responsibilities Include:

Teaching four undergraduate courses per semester.

Engaging students in learning inside and outside the classroom including service learning or experiential learning, practicum, and active research.

Coordinating opportunities for students with community partners.

Advising HSML majors on their degree plans.

Participating in activities such as student recruitment, program assessment, program development.
