We have an exciting opportunity to join our Manufacturing Proposal Contracts Group within our ASI Division.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Applies technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned engineering problems.
  • Works in a team environment with technical, financial, and management staff to participate in new business proposals as required to develop schedule, manpower, and cost estimates.
  • Utilize various business tools and reports to identify production capability in support of the bid and proposal (B&P) process
  • May assist in the development of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and related dictionaries.
  • Familiar with complex Bills of Materials (BOM) and configuration management processes. Understands various BOM configuration options and issues.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes, production routings, production orders and associated MRP work flow processing.
  • Experience with SQL database query language and reporting using industry standard software development tools such as Oracle SQL Developer, PL SQL Developer. Keen understanding of relational database systems and query logic.
  • Experience with SAP enterprise resource planning business systems.
  • Exposure to earned value management is a plus
  • Perform manufacturing liaison function between manufacturing and external organizations such as design engineering, program office and quality engineering during the B&P process.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelors or masters degree in Industrial engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelors degree.
  • May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • Must have a general understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.
  • Good communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Must be able to work extended hours as required.

An EIT (Engineer in Training) certificate is desirable.
