Description
​As part of a major initiative in strengthening research in structural biology and advanced imaging, the Biological and Environmental Sciences and Engineering (BESE) Division in KAUST is seeking structural biologists with a strong expertise in cryo-electron microscopy. Applications for faculty positions at all ranks (Assistant-, Associate- or Full-Professor) are invited from highly competitive candidates, eager to pursue impactful research to advance fundamental biological questions, innovative technology and/or translational research. Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. in Biological Science or related fields, as well as a strong publication track record in the top-tier venues of their respective areas.

The KAUST Bioscience program offers a unique combination of an intellectually stimulating environment and access to world-class laboratories, instrumentation, and generous funding schemes. KAUST provides outstanding structural biology research facilities, including a Titan KRIOS [with phase plates, Quantum GIF Gatan filter (model 968), K2 Summit direct detector and access to powerful GPU computer clusters], NMR spectrometers (600, 700 and 950 MHz) and an in-house X-ray source. KAUST facilities also include state-of-the-art core laboratories in Genomics, Proteomics, Imaging & Characterization, Extreme Computing and Informatics, and an animal resource lab. The KAUST structure and organisation is particularly suitable for out-of-the-box interdisciplinary collaborative research, and offers strong support for translating research into impactful innovations.
