Scope of Job:
Provide professional project management and leadership on multiple, complex higher education academic, healthcare and research projects at UTRGV campuses. Direct design professionals and administer contracts necessary to meet project goals. Manage the planning, design and execution of higher education construction projects, by providing leadership, communication, coordination and conflict resolution to ensure project goals are met.
Description of Duties:
• Manage projects from initiation through completion.
• Apply project control processes to track progress, for consistency, to mitigate risk and to assure compliance with Board of Regents Rules & Regulations and applicable State and Federal statues and regulations.
• Review and approve design and construction contracts and changes.
• Provide support to Institution staff in management of planning and construction activities and processes.
• Responsible for project budget, schedule and coordination of design and construction services as required for multiple projects.
• Drive progress of design consultants, recommend alternatives and facilitate timely decisions by stakeholders.
• Primary project liaison with campus staff, facility user groups, operations and administration.
• Stay current in Codes and Regulations applicable to design and construction.
• Collaborate with other areas in the Facilities Planning and Operations Department to initiate and develop process improvements and on other applicable topics.
• Review design development and construction documents on all OFPC and institutionally managed projects to avoid delays.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
