What is a trademark?

A trademark refers to a word, symbol, or design (such as a stylized brand name or logo) utilized by a company to identify and differentiate its products or services from those of other companies. Essentially, a trademark serves as an indication of the origin of goods or services. Trademark laws are typically in place to prevent any confusion among customers regarding the source of goods or services.

A legal entity, be it an individual, company, or other entity with legal rights and obligations, is referred to as a Publisher when listing and/or publishing intellectual property on VePub. Therefore, it is highly advisable for Publishers to carefully consider certain aspects before listing and/or publishing any intellectual property such as Notes, Patents, Conferences, Events, or Job opportunities on VePub.

Although some of copyright holders permit the use of their intellectual properties without any issues, there may be cases where the owner objects to your listings or publications. In such instances, rights-holders have the ability to formally request VePub to remove a listing or published item in accordance with the platform's policies. Consistent violations of these policies may lead to the termination of a VePub account.

Hence, it is strictly prohibited to list or publish intellectual properties (such as notes, Patents, Conferences, Events, and Job opportunities) on VePub that violate the intellectual property rights of others. In the event that intellectual property owners identify listings that infringe upon their rights, they have the option to report such instances. VePub is committed to promptly removing infringing items from the site, as they not only violate the law but also undermine the trust of our buyers and Publishers.

To put it differently, items that have the potential to infringe upon copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights, and the unauthorized use of pictures and text from other members, are strictly prohibited on VePub. It is important to avoid engaging in such practices. Here are a few examples of infringement that could lead VePub to take action and remove a listing or published item:

1. Utilizing copyrighted images, text, or other creative works without proper authorization.

2. Employing trademarks or logos without obtaining appropriate consent.

3. Engaging in plagiarism or unauthorized copying of someone else's work.

4. Sharing confidential or proprietary information without consent.

5. Posting content that violates privacy rights or contains personal information without permission.

VePub is committed to enforcing these guidelines and taking necessary measures against any infringements to maintain a trusted and respectful environment for all users..

Images and Text Policy

It is essential to use your own images and create your own descriptions when listing items on VePub. It is important to note that copying images from other websites or internet searches and using them in your listings or item pages is not permitted unless you have obtained permission from the image owner. For instance, copying and pasting an image from a website without permission may constitute copyright infringement.

Hence, when a legal entity lists and/or publishes an intellectual property (such as a Note, Patent, Conference, Event, or Job opportunity), they are responsible for ensuring that the listed item does not violate the legitimate rights of any third party. In particular, the Publisher guarantees that the listed and/or published item has not been copied from copyrighted materials, and if any copyrighted materials are utilized, proper citations will be provided.

Furthermore, the Publisher who lists an item on VePub assures that none of the content associated with the Property is defamatory or infringes upon the privacy rights of any third party. Additionally, the Publisher takes full responsibility for any instances of plagiarism associated with the listed item.

Intellectual property rights owners

Exclusively the genuine owner of an intellectual property holds the authority to report VePub listings that violate their copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights. Right owners can initiate a report by sending an email to copyright@vepub.com. While members who are not the rightful owners do not have the authority to report directly, they can still assist by reaching out to the owner and encouraging them to contact VePub.

Examples of infringements

1. Listings that display the trademark of the genuine owner, such as a logo, without proper authorization.

2. Unlawful reproductions of audio, video, or other media.

3. Unauthorized utilization of a rights owner's images or text in a listing..

Engaging in activities that violate VePub's policies may lead to various consequences, such as administrative termination or cancellation of listings, exclusion or reduced visibility of listings in search results, decreased Publisher rating, restrictions on buying or selling, or suspension of the account. It is important to note that any fees paid for listings or accounts on which action is taken will not be refunded or credited back to the account.

I want to report a rights violation

We value your assistance in identifying and reporting any listings or product pages that you suspect may violate your intellectual property rights. The following types of listings can be reported:

1. Items that infringe upon your intellectual property.

2. Counterfeit or replica items.

3. Unauthorized utilization of copyrighted content in a listing or product page.

Finally, it is crucial to refrain from using any brand names, logos, pictures, or text without obtaining proper approval from the owner. Failure to comply with these rules will result in the removal of your listing by VePub. Additionally, repeated violations may lead to restrictions on your buying/selling privileges or the suspension of your account.

- When events and exhibitions utilize badge scanning technology, your personal information will be utilized to identify you at specific access points, such as VIP areas, seminars, entry and exit points, and other event areas. This may involve providing location information for these purposes. It's important to note that badges cannot be read remotely.

- The personal information obtained from badge scanning will be utilized for purposes such as access control, security measures, and analyzing visitor traffic. These efforts aim to enhance the overall event experience for visitors and other individuals involved.

- You have the option to allow event exhibitors to scan your badge. By doing so, your contact details will be shared with the exhibitor for their use, in compliance with applicable data protection laws, the exhibitor's privacy policy, and any additional notices or consents provided to you at the event.

- When we host and manage a virtual exhibition or event, as well as any third-party platform provider working on our behalf, we will utilize the personal information you provide during the registration process for the purpose of hosting and managing the digital event. This includes analyzing visitor interactions and traffic to enhance the event experience for attendees and provide a personalized experience.

- When you enter a virtual space, zone, or room, such as an exhibition booth, there is a possibility that your personal information may be shared with the sponsor and exhibitor of that particular space. For our Publishing Services

This pixel helps us determine if the email has been opened and allows us to analyze click-through rates on the links within the email. Additionally, if you choose not to open our emails, we may use this data to determine if you still wish to receive them. It's important to note that the pixel will be deleted when you delete the email.

- When you subscribe to an online service, the emails you receive as part of the service may also include a pixel. The website is loaded via HTTPS, represented by the lock icon in your web browser ensuring the transmission is secured with a certificate issued by an official security certificate authority to the Informa Controller operating it.
